The Ministry of Justice has confirmed that from 17th November 2025, the fee for registering a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) will rise from £82 to £92 per application. The repeat application fee will also increase, from £41 to £46.

The Ministry says the fee rise is intended to “make sure that income from LPA applications better meets the cost of delivering the services provided by OPG.” Current exemptions and remissions will remain, meaning reduced fees may still apply depending on financial circumstances.

Why You Should Act Now

With fees set to rise later this year, now is the perfect time to put your LPAs in place. By acting before November 17th, you can secure the current lower fees and take advantage of the improved efficiency at the OPG.

Most couples choose to take out two LPAs each, one for Property and Financial Affairs and one for Health and Welfare. That means four applications in total, and registering them before November saves £40.00 in fees.

We can help guide you through the process quickly and smoothly, ensuring your Lasting Power of Attorney applications are completed accurately and on time.
